THE ARCO FELICE AND CUMA

The Arco Felice was built in 95 A.C. in order to create a passage through Mount Grillo for the Via Domitiana that, otherwise , would have had to go the long way around or make a stiff climb, if you wanted to get to the antique city from that side. The Arco Felice (arch) became the monumental entrance to the city from the east.
